BILLBOARDS

Billboards are the least understood of all marketing. Years ago at Camel, they said that a billboard must be understood in 5 seconds, but I design with the idea that a billboard should be comprehended in 1 second--or less.

Billboards are often seen across farm fields, at high speed, and with either the sun in your eyes or a glare coming off the picture. Make sure your billboards still easily show the logo of your company and have art that can still be seen in all situations. Note the difference between the left billboard and the right, IMD-designed billboard.

Tie-ins with local events and culture can advance your brand if done correctly. In Indiana, basketball is big. Running this billboard during March is a great idea.
